Cinematic Newborn & Family Films in London

Natural films that capture your baby’s earliest days —
something you will want to remember forever.

Based in West London

Babies grow and change faster than we ever expect. One day they fit perfectly in your arms, and before you know it those early expressions and newborn stretches are gone.

Some of these moments cannot be captured in a photograph alone — the way your baby moves, the quiet sounds, the feeling of holding them in your arms.

Film allows you to return to those moments — not just to see them, but to truly relive them.

Newborn Film

A newborn film documents the first weeks and months of your baby’s life — the small details and the closeness between you, just as they are.

Filmed at home, it preserves real moments in a natural and artistic way.

Family Film

A family film captures life with older children — the moments you share and the authentic, everyday connection that makes your family unique.

Filmed at home or outdoors, it creates a relaxed and natural reflection of your life together.

"Karolina was amazing. She created a video for our newly born daughter, and the result was exceptional. We were not the most comfortable people in front of camera, but she patiently directed the pose and guided us thru the shooting with ease. We were very happy with the result. I would recommend her service, especially if you want to capture your memorable moments."

What Makes Film Different

Cinematic films are a powerful way to tell your story. They capture more than how your child looks. Films preserve the little expressions, interactions, and details that make this time so special.

Through a fusion of movement, sound, and beautiful imagery, they can express the love that exists between parents and children in a profound way.

Although many newborn photography sessions take place during the first two weeks after birth, newborn films can be created whenever you feel ready.

There is no pressure to work within a narrow time window. Whether your baby is a few days old, a few weeks old, or a few months old, your film will reflect these early days as they truly were.

Your baby stays safely in your arms while I hold the camera. Rather than creating a scene, I document your family naturally, just as you are. Whether it's feeding, rocking to sleep, changing tiny socks, or singing lullabies, I focus on the simple moments that make up everyday life with a newborn.

The result is a film that feels honest, personal, and deeply meaningful.

I came to videography from a background in photography. After completing my Master's degree in Fine Art in China, I began working as a photographer in Italy, where I spent several years deepening my understanding of portrait photography and visual storytelling.

Shooting still images taught me how to see beauty in people — everyone carries a light within them; you simply have to notice it. I also realised that although I consider myself a shy person, with a camera in my hand I feel deeply connected to people and the moments they share. I carry that same approach into my filmmaking.

Alongside family films, I occasionally work with my husband, Enrico, as a second videographer, contributing to the creation of his cinematic wedding films (whitestories.co.uk).

Living abroad and being a mother myself, I understand how important it is to maintain family connections. Children grow up so quickly, and I try my best to help our grandparents feel part of my daughter's life, even from afar. Seeing her through films brings them so much joy.

I often film my daughter during simple weekends or family trips, knowing these clips will become priceless memories not only for us as her parents and for her grandparents, but for her as well — and perhaps even for future generations.

Imagine being able to watch a film of your grandmother as a child. It would be impossible to look away.

That’s why I care so deeply about what I do. I want to offer families the chance to preserve their lives in a cinematic way — creating films they can return to, treasure, and relive for years to come. Newborn days pass in a heartbeat, and in the busy rhythm of new parenthood there isn’t always time to document them. That’s where I gently step in.

How film sessions work

I'm based in Richmond upon Thames and offer family film sessions across West and Central London. If you're based further afield, feel free to get in touch and we can discuss options.

I usually film newborn sessions in the comfort of your own home, as new parents often find it difficult to travel during the first months of their baby’s life. However, outdoor locations such as parks can be wonderful settings for filming families with older children.

A session usually lasts between two and three hours, though timing can vary. I always allow parents to lead the pace — if you need to feed your baby, change them, or simply pause for a cup of tea, we can take a break.

During the session, I offer gentle guidance when needed and select the best spots to film based on the natural light in your home. There is no awkward posing, and most of the time you won’t even notice the camera. I move quietly around you, searching for the perfect angles, so you can remain fully present with your baby and with each other.

"Karolina captured the atmosphere of tenderness and intimacy beautifully in the video. It’s about emotion, closeness, depth. Preserving the memory of such an important moment from this angle is a wonderful gift to yourself and to your loved ones..."

FAQ

When is the best time to film a newborn?

Newborn films are often created within the first four weeks after birth, when babies still have their newborn features and characteristics. However, beautiful films can be made at any stage during the first months of life. The most important thing is choosing a time when your family feels ready and comfortable.

Where does the filming take place?

Most newborn films are created in the comfort of your own home, where your family naturally spends time together. This allows the film to feel personal and authentic, capturing the real atmosphere of your everyday life.

If you prefer, filming can also take place outdoors, for example during a family walk in a nearby park or garden.

What should we wear for the filming session?

The most important thing is to wear comfortable clothes that feel natural to you.

It is best to avoid colours that are very close to your skin tone (for example beige on very light skin), as they can blend into the image.

Do we have to film breastfeeding?

Not at all. Breastfeeding will only be filmed if you feel comfortable with it.

If included, it will always be filmed in a very gentle and respectful way so that there is no nudity shown in the final film.

What if my baby needs feeding, comforting, or a break during the session?

Babies cry, feed, need cuddles, and sometimes need a break. There is no expectation for everything to go perfectly. Sessions are relaxed and led by your baby's needs, with plenty of time for feeding, comforting, and settling whenever necessary.

When will the final film be delivered?

Your cinematic film will be delivered within five weeks of your filming session via a secure online link.

Can I request changes to the film?

Yes. You may request one round of small adjustments within 72 hours of receiving your film. This may include minor editing changes such as shortening or removing a clip.
However, the music selection cannot be changed, as it is carefully chosen to suit the storytelling and must comply with professional licensing requirements.

Can I choose the music for the film?

The music is carefully selected by the filmmaker to suit the mood and storytelling of your film. This also ensures that the music complies with professional licensing requirements.
